the 'hollies' came on the scene during the sixties at a time when the music choice seemed endless, we still had 'the beatles' and 'the stones' toping the charts at will, or so it seemed.
back then you could buy '3' records for just a pound, your collections tended to grow pretty fast.
i remember the early 'hollies' songs well, and soon found i had several of their records among my collection back then, allmost by stealth.
vocally the group were without doubt 'pure' quality.
i did in fact buy a 'hollies' greatest hits' cd some years ago when replacing my 'vinyl' however several of their hits were sung in a medley plus a few were missing, this 2cd-set seems to have all the hits that i fondly remember, plus a few numbers i don't.
there are one or two tracks among their hits i'd place among my 'top' 100 favourites everytime including 'the air that i breath' 'just one look' and probably 'carrie anne'
in truth the 'hollies' had many top '20' hits, and there's not one i dislike, with the 'hit's' on board along with several other numbers, the album is a good-buy.
This album brings back all the memories, with some some excellent new songs. The Hollies, God luv 'em
