For a final album, after a career of over 40 years, this can't be reality! This album shouldn't be as good as it is. From the supreme rock of Raised on Rock, to the utterly sublime The Good Die Young, this is a wonderful album, and a celebration of how good this band has been for so many years.
BTW The good die young is the best Scorps song ever.
As a prog fan, the Scorpions are the only hard rock band I take seriously these days. They have withstood the passing of the decades and never fail to put out a record that is both uplifting and moving. 'Ballad' can often be a dirty word for some rock fans but the Scorpions do these better than anyone, using well rehearsed hooks and textures that evoke love and loss. The main diet of rock is never over-indulged allowing for a real sense of togetherness and enjoyment in the performance. The live shows will be well worth seeing and I for one will be going. Finally, is the track 'The good die young' the best thing they have recorded? I think it is. Buy the cd and judge for yourselves.
If this is to be the last album, what a way to go.
This is their best album in years.
Twelve tracks,8 rockers & 4 ballads
Great songs each could be a single in their own right
No fillers here.
This brings back memories of the great rockers of yesteryear,.
Catchy ,Anthemic, well played and sung, and ballads like only
the scorpions can do.
