The Best Of Doves: The Places Between (2CD & DVD)

If your wondering whether to get the 1 disc edition or the 2 don't. The 2nd disc has some classics as well as some wonderful new material and B-sides. As with all compilations their isn't going to be some of the fan favourites (Brazil, Satellites, Walk in Fire etc.). Yet the final tracks here couldn't have been picked any better to guage the feeling and great talent that the Doves have to offer. If your a fan this is an essential album. If your not a fan yet are looking for some of the best music of the 2000s then this is more than a safe bet.

The DVD included is a fine collection of Doves videos. You could easily find them online but i've always been a fan of quality when it comes to video as its the best way to appreciate what you see and hear. Many more gems here than the acclaimed Black and White video.

One problem i did have (all be it a slight one) was when i turned the box on an angle, even if it were closed, the discs would slip right out! Be careful not to handle it too roughly.

As stated in some of the reviews before me, Doves are one of the most under-rated bands in the UK. 2 discs packed with pounding, memorable, soothing, beautifully crafted tracks proves that this talented bunch can provide so many hits. The 2nd disc features b-sides, rarities and alternate versions. The 3rd disc features music videos from their extensive career. I would definitely fork out the extra few pounds for this extra 3 disc version. The collection is perfect for both audiences; dedicated fans and also for new listeners. You won't regret buying it!

Ive been following Doves since they brought out 'Lost Souls' and for almost ten years now have been in complete dissolusion as to why these guys aren't considered as one of this generations greatests bands! The places between yet again illustrates that. Its about time these guys are portrayed for what they truely are. GENIUS.

One of the most underated bands from the U.K, and yet every single they bring out is an instant classic! Pounding, Fear, Catch The Sun, Black and White Town, Kingdom of Rust are all there. Then a lot of stuff i've not herd before on disc 2 (and i thought i was a big fan)? Plus a dvd with all the best vids, nuff sed, get it bought!! Class.
