  • 'Further' is the seventh studio album from electronic production duo The Chemical Brothers. Each of the eight tracks on the album has a corresponding film clip, created by Adam Smith and Marcus Lyal, and designed specifically to match each song. Unlike most of the Chemical Brothers' previous output, this release does not feature any vocal collaborations. 'Further' contains the singles 'Escape Velocity' and 'Swoon'.

Not the classic i was hoping for!

I bought this album sincerely hoping for some kind of return to form for a band that i have been following for a long time. However, i have to say that after having listened to this new album 3 times now, it still lacks for me that punch, the 'wow' factor that some of their previous albums have had. I am not even going to make the mistake of comparing previous albums with this one, but to say, as one reviewer has, that this album stands up there with Surrender or Exit Planet Dust is wide of the mark. For me this album is a little confused, the Chemical Brothers seem unsure as to where they want to go with their music. Nothing stood out for me on this album. I would much rather they just have 7 or 8 really stomping tracks, and less of this attempt to be chillout. Exit Planet Dust was all about getting you moving, i don't think this one has the same effect. I know, I know, maybe they have decided to change direction even more, but at what cost to their trademark music? I think the complete lack of guest vocals also had an effect on the songs produced. Overall, i would say as a Chemical Brothers fan that the album is worth a purchase, but you may feel a little shortchanged at the end of your listening.

 Brothers deliver yet again!!!

Another outstanding album by The Chemical Brothers. Sounds like they are going back to their roots, yet also trying something new at the same time. Very psychedelic, yet satisfying, without being too wierd. After the transmition code style intro 'Escape Velocity' hits you in a cool Kraftwerk type way for an enjoyable 12 minutes. Then 'Another World' takes you on a chill out journey thats almost like you are underwater. 'Dissolve' builds up the atmosphere up for 'Horse power' with its almost 'Hey Boy, Hey Girl' beats, and then straight into the latest single 'Swoon'.

Stand out tracks: 'Escape Velocity', 'Another World', 'Horse Power', 'Swoon'. Awesome stuff for any Chemical Brothers fan or if you fancy some techno/electro/psychedelic/chillout.

 Another Great Album

"Another World" and "K+D+B" are especially the stand out ones for me..whole album ties together and takes you on a trip through Psychedelia...this is up there with Exit Planet Dust and Surrender in my book

 Where did the tunes go?

I'm a big fan of the chemical brothers, have followed them from the start - but this album just isn't doing it for me. First listen was disappointing, stuck with it and after several listens, I'm still to be impressed. It's ok, no real stand out tracks. They could have done so much better...
