The Citizen boxset contains all of Steely Dans early albums from the 70's and 80's with some extra bonus tracks too. This is the cheapest and best way to upgrade all your Steely Dan music from vinyl/tape to cd in this nicely packaged boxset. For all those people that have not got or heard any Steely Dan I recommend these two ablums first, Can't Buy A Thrill and Katy Lied which are the ones I like best. It is hard to explain what type of music Steely Dan are but My best shot would be, to say they are a jazz/rock band with a really small pinch of pop. They are all professional trained musicians which really shows as their music is really tight and complex. Donald Fagen has the most fantastic voice and their songs are clever and witty. The track Reelin' In The Years I consider to be one of the best rock songs of all time it has the most amazing guitar. Also the songs Docter Wu and Gaucho are two fine examples of thier more jazzy rock with some great saxophone being played. Other… more »

Other stand-out tracks are Do It Again, Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Rose Daring and Your Gold Teeth 2. There are many more great songs but to many to list off.

Alongside the Led Zeppelin boxset I reviewed this is one of the best you can buy. Steely Dan are so good mere words can't do them justice trust me.
