VocalPlay (CD & DVD)

I saw them supporting Michael Buble in May, and they were fantastic. I got the album straight away. So clever and interesting. My kids love it too and try and make the sounds and sing along too. I would recommend this to anyone who appreciates pure talent.

I, like the previous reviewer, ordered this album from Canada as that was where it was released first in the world. It hasn't left my CD player since.

This album is a perfect representation of the Naturally 7 phenomenon. With fantastic songs for every mood, easy on the ear and infectious to the feet, this is an incredible album for the music alone. However, if the music itself wasn't enough, how it is created makes it even more of a must-listen. For those not in the know, this is a group which creates music using only the sounds of their voices. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that they do not do this predominantly in a traditional acapella style (although they do that beautifully) but by simulating and mimicking instruments using their voices. Drums, guitars of all kinds, trumpets, even DJ-style scratches. Not a single instrument. Astounding, especially when you see them live. VocalPlay is a brilliant showcase of the capabilities of the human voice, and the application of talent.

This album is definitely the best that Naturally7 have given us so far - some songs we know and love already along with some new ones that will become fast favourites... I bought this album on March9th from Canada as I couldn't wait for the UK release and it was worth every penny. Theres a song for every mood on here - slow, fast, catchy, sentimental... 768, Ready Or Not and Catchy will have you dancing along with the cd, You're Beautiful and the gorgeous And That's When You Love Me are songs to share with the special someone in your life. SOS (Anybody Out There) is another superb original track and Be Still My Soul can't fail to move.

The DVD is great - some videos showcasing the guys amazing talent, of particular mention is the Solos from the MSG show of Michael Buble's tour. The interviews are great and really give some insight into the band and their visions but what comes across throughout is the humility and sincerity of the group. Not just amazingly talented guys but genuinely nice people too.

Buy this cd and then get yourself to a Naturally7 show NOW!! You can't experience Vocal Play without spending a night with N7 - you won't be disappointed and you will surely be amazed :)
