The Best Album In The World!

Every track on this album is just complete class! The build up to "I wanna be adored" is a fantastic intro to the album and the way it ends on "I am the resurrection" is just epic. What can I say other than what an album!!

It's hard to believe this album was released in 1989 and even then had been 5 years in the making as the Roses struggled making a name for themselves outside of Manchester. However when this burst onto the scene things changed.........quickly!! Ian Brown may not always be the best singer technically but he sure knows how to pen a decent tune!!! And this is his best vocal performance, swaggering through the 11 songs with effortless ease. John Squire provides trademark melodic and dreamy guitar licks, & the rhythmic duo of Mani & Reni keep things tied together nicely. I Wanna Be Adored is a brilliant rumbling opener, She Bangs the Drums is still as fresh as ever, Waterfall is a beauty.....the list goes on, leading to a superb climax on I Am the Resurrection where sparks are flying as the Roses put their foot down!!! All the album tracks are outstanding (John Leckie did a great job on the production of this) there are echoes of the Beatles, Stones, Byrds and the Clash. It's one of the best albums of all time, no exaggeration, let alone the best debut. A must have for any indie/rock/britpop fans.

  An absolute classic

This is the one of the best debut albums ever. British music would be very different if the roses hadn't swaggered into the scene in the late 80s. Noel and Liam Gallagher were certainly paying attention!! Songs like made of stone, this is the one and i am the ressurection still sound fresh today. Buy this now if you don't own it already. You won't be dissappointed

  Magnificent !

Released in 1989 'The Stone Roses' is truly magnificent album. I won't single out any particular songs because every track on this album, with the possible exception of the experimental 'Don't Stop' is a true classic. The Stone Roses had spent many years experimenting with various styles of music and learning their trade, before letting loose with this album, it was certainly worth the wait.
Ian Browns vocals have been widely criticised over the years, especially when singing live, but on this album they are not only tuneful, but almost angelic at times. John Squires guitar playing dominates the album but never overpowers the songs. Reni is not only an amazing drummer, he also provides the backing vocals so vital to the sound of the album, not forgetting the great Mani bass lines holding it all together. The Stone Roses is a timeless album it still sounds as good today as it did all those years ago, if anything it improves with age

There are a number of 'must have' albums. This is most definitely one of them. Every single song on this album is pure class. I own many albums and there are plenty where I skip a track or two because I don't like the song. Not with this album, every track really is brilliant. Get it now and see for yourself. Your ears will thank you!
