  • One of the most famous albums in the world and definitely the most famous album sleeve, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' ushered in the psychedelic era and the 'Summer of Love' and remains the pinnacle of British psychedelia. From the whimsy of 'When I'm 64' to the stunning orchestration of 'A Day In The Life', the melancholia of 'She's Leaving Home' to Ringo's solo spot 'With A Little Help From My Friends' the album is a true pop masterpiece.

I heard Sgt Pepper for the first time at school - the english master didn't like it at all 'you can write better than this bumch' was his view

Yes its a fab album from the Fab 4 - plenty to enjoy and you have the artwork too...though the cd will never have the glamour of the look and feel of the vinyl cover .... maybe one day cd's will appear in album sized covers....

Excellent very very surprising for me.

I mainly got into this cause alot of my friends likes the beatles and so does my sister and i decided to borrow it of my sister & it was brilliant. Again surprsing for me cause im a massive metalhead. A great rock album not the rock youd hear nowadays. I suggest this if you like rock music and bands like led zeppelin or just early rock music. cause this is outstanding gave it a four for lucy in the sky(not my thing). Must buy a classic!!!!!!!

 The Best Of British...

The Best Of Beatles.. The Best Of British.. The Best?? Quite possibly. There is an undeniable optimism to this perfectly constructed album that leaves the listener smiling no matter their previous mood. From the brilliant opener, through a catalogue of classics ending on the meandering masterpiece that is "A Day In The Life", a song that really shows what a pop band can do. Shame that this was the last album before the downhill struggle towards their separation. Dont get me wrong The White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road are also classics, but the optimism and giddy happiness from Sgt Peppers is not present as the mood shifts a downward notch as the tension in the group mounts.

My idea of a perfect album - Believe the hype and buy it!!

 Simply the Best

As a teenager, who became interested in music at a relativley early age, anything I listened to was met by 'Not a patch on the Beatles', or 'Thats awful. Not half as good as The Beatles'. Well, this year, I finally took up that advice, and was blown away by this piece of musical history. The beginning is brilliant with the 'Sgt Pepper'/'With a little help from my friends' combination. From there on, it only gets better, my personal highlights being 'Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds', 'She's Leaving Home', and the superb 'A Day in The Life'. The other songs are by no means also rans; the variety they bring to this album is what makes it great. This kind of musical variation on one LP was unprecedented at the time, and to this day; unequaled. This, even to this teenager in this day and age, was greeted by utter astonishment. Quite simply, the best piece of music EVER.
