- One of the most famous albums in the world and definitely the most famous album sleeve, 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' ushered in the psychedelic era and the 'Summer of Love' and remains the pinnacle of British psychedelia. From the whimsy of 'When I'm 64' to the stunning orchestration of 'A Day In The Life', the melancholia of 'She's Leaving Home' to Ringo's solo spot 'With A Little Help From My Friends' the album is a true pop masterpiece.

As per instruction for my music journalism work at university, i was told to look as some classic artists and write online reviews, and this album is brilliant. One of the finest ever. I have a large collection and this is up their with the best. I feel an album can be considered truly great if it grabs your attention within the first couple of plays, and i can honestly say there isn't i song i don't like. I think after hearing the beatles it is clear to see how much their work has influenced so many bands. A must buy! Ive gotta get some more lol
outstanding!!!!

The Best Of Beatles.. The Best Of British.. The Best?? Quite possibly. There is an undeniable optimism to this perfectly constructed album that leaves the listener smiling no matter their previous mood. From the brilliant opener, through a catalogue of classics ending on the meandering masterpiece that is "A Day In The Life", a song that really shows what a pop band can do. Shame that this was the last album before the downhill struggle towards their separation. Dont get me wrong The White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road are also classics, but the optimism and giddy happiness from Sgt Peppers is not present as the mood shifts a downward notch as the tension in the group mounts.
My idea of a perfect album - Believe the hype and buy it!!
