I thought I'd buy this album because I am a big fan of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour and Roger Waters (and also because the CD is so cheap right now). I have only heard one other of Roger Waters albums "Amused to Death" and liked it(see my review) so I thought I might give this one a go. The first time I stuck it on I didn't really like it but something made me give it another go, and after listening to it a few times, it started to grow on me. I'm giving it four stars because I keep coming back to it to listen to it. Definitely not as good as David Gilmour's solo albums but I still enjoy listening to Rogers's solo work.

 Worth a punt

£2.99? You can't go wrong with this one. I bought this many moons ago on vinyl, came across it by chance on play & had to buy it on disc for the car. I forgot how much I loved it. A bit of trivia for all you Floyd fans, at the time of making the Wall Roger Waters had 2 concepts which he put to the band to record, Pros & Cons was one, The Wall the other - thankfully they chose the Wall but Waters made this anyway.

Don't give up on this, listen to it a few times, there are good guitar solos and excellent sax solos. The lyrics are typiclly bizarre 'Arabs with knives at the foot of the bed' - classic Some great tracks especially Every Stranger's Eyes, blows me away every time I listen to it. If you like any of the Waters era Floyd you have to buy this.

An absolute bargain!!

 love it

I loved this album.. Its very roger waters if you get me. Very much like the wall. A must have for floyd fans who prefer rogers work. The only annoying thing (which waters now admits) is that its a pain how you have to keep adjusting the volume from the quiet bits then it suddenly goes louder. Love all the tracks expecially every strangers eyes. And for the first time today. Had to google a lot of the lyrics as they are totally different to what i thought he was saying!

 i adore this album

Its gotten me through some rough times. You really need to listen to this through headphones to experience it at its best. As for there being no story, of course there is! Its easy to follow, dramatic and brilliant. I love it.

 Strange, but interesting.

A friend played this for me, more as a demonstration of his sound system. I found it strange, but enjoyable. I have no other Pink Floyd or solo material from any members of the band. I am not fully convinced by the 'story' but really enjoy the tracks in themselves, they are individually strong, tuneful, well played and produced.
