This really is The Best Of Hendrix, songs like Purple Haze, Crosstown Traffic and Voodoo Child to name but a few all time greats. Essential Album, a MUST BUY!

Like the title of this review suggests, it really is only a 'summary' of Hendrix's vast musical career, but it does exactly what it set out to do, which is to give a satisfying introduction to the great man.
If you are unfamiliar with the work of Hendrix and am in need of a starting point, this is a recommended choice.

This was the first Hendrix album I brought, and there's been no looking back since as I have gone on to buy all his albums. This Cd contains Jimi's most famous songs and shows what an intelligent and multi talented musician he was as it includes a melting pot of different genres including blues, pop, rock and jazz to produce catchy, beautiful, rockin' songs. Some could argue that certain songs are missing like 'Machine Gun' or 'Ezy Rider' but it would be impossible to include all Jimi's songs as most of them are brilliant. Essential listening for any guitarist as it will inspire you greatly. If you have the money I would advise buying his studio albums, 'Are You Experienced?', 'Axis: Bold As Love', 'Electric Ladyland', and the post humous release 'First Rays Of The New Rising Sun' as they are all 5 star albums and contain all the songs that are on this album (except 'Star Spangled Banner' which is of 'Live at Woodstock'), if you can't afford to though, this is the perfect album to start with.
