I thoroughly recommend catching up with this outstanding artist. Peter has sustained high quality musical output for thirty years now and is still at the forefront of musical and recording development. He also has a uniquely powerful and varied instrument - his voice.

If you only know him from a couple of hits, this album is a good place to start. You'll discover amazing album tracks like Red Rain (always in the first few songs of a Gabriel concert), Washing in the Water, I Grieve and Downside Up. Strange and wonderful rhythm based tracks like San Jacinto and The Rhythm of the Heat. Fun songs like Steam and Big Time and softer reflective songs including the wonderful Father/Son (which has a great video).

I also recommend his recent Up album and also So from the eighties.

The problem with being remembered for a handful of hit records is that so many great tracks are left in comparative shadows - this collection is full of rich sounds from a pioneer of rock drama.
