After hearing this, and then Pinkerton, I thought Weezer were going to be the best band in the world. Then, they just disappeared... gone. Of course when they returned it was already a bitter case of too little, too late for most fans.

This album is a really difficult one to dislike. It'll just make you happy from the first note played. It's one to chuck on at a barbecue when you're all smacked off you're faces and sing along to at 01.00 AM in the garden with your arms around each others shoulders and your trousers down on mass.

I can't really think of a song that's not worthy of praise, but I can't be bothered to go through them all because I'm at work... Hmmm conundrum.

Okay, the best tunes are as follows:

My Name Is Jonas
No One Else
The World Has Turned And Left Me Here
Buddy Holly
Come Undone (The Sweater Song)
Surf Wax America
Say It Ain't So
In The Garage
Holiday
Only In Dream

O, that's all of them. Conundrum over.

 A true rock classic

Weezer's first was not only their finest album, it remains one of the best rock albums ever released. Showcasing exactly how to create a memorable and lasting debut, 'The Blue Album' has not one track which will make you reach for the fast forward button. Ten songs of incredibly catchy and memorable tunes, this album rightfully holds it's place on the Rolling Stone top 500 albums of all time list (beating even Sabbath's Master of Reality, Public Enemy's Fear of a Black Planet, RHCP's Blood Sugar..., Van Halen's debut and Nirvana's In Utero to name but a few).

This album has easily withstood the test of time and is especially great to listen to during the summer months (assuming you actually get good weather). And if you disagree with anything i've said, "I don't care 'bout that".

 Timeless classic

This debut album sounds as fresh and relevant now as it did when it was first released 14 years ago. With the 'blue album' we are introduced to Weezer's punchy, catchy brand of 'geek rock' that has served them well for so long.
The album kicks off with the anthemic 'My Name is Jonas' which to this day still makes me want to jump around in the garden drinking beer and eating hotdogs. Other standout tracks include the melodic 'Buddy Holly'; brooding 'Say It Ain't So', and the monumentally epic closer, 'Only In Dreams'.
What Weezer have done here is lay the blueprint for a career based around well-written songs with smart lyrical observations, and as much infectious melody as raw power. I definitely recommend this album, and at £3.99 you should have already ordered it by now! What are you waiting for?!

10 years after it came out as it was on day one. I love this cd. In fact, time to replace my old worn out one!
