The beginning of a legendary sound

Although this is their second album, it definitely is the start of them capturing their legendary sound which became a huge influence and coined the term 'Stoner Rock'. 'Thumb', 'Green Machine', '50 Million...', 'Thong Song', 'Freedom Run' and 'Allen's Wrench' are all Kyuss classics with rolling drums, thundering bass and slab heavy guitar riffs all served up with John Garcia giving it all he's got in the vocal department. A good album to get the ball rolling.

i dont think underrated is the right word to use for this band, they just didnt have much mainstream success.
all the band members went on to form their own bands like QOTSA, hermano, slo burn, unida, etc but we all know that kyuss is where they all belong in.

this album is bloody brilliant. just have an open mind, and enjoy. some songs i recommend you to listen from this album are

writhe
milten universe
apocatheries weight
green machine

  Landmark Album

This album has to be one of the greatest ever recorded, regardless of genre. Homme's groove laden Sabbath like riffage, Bjork's inventive drum beats, Oliveri's rhythmic bass rumble and Garcia's raw classic rock vocals make for one exceptional record. It also benefits from a much improved production than their previous album Wretch.
