I find that by far the most appealing thing about this album is the atmosphere it creates, which is a very hard thing to describe and thus hard to base a review around, but I'll try anyway.

When I listen to the album, unlike a lot of other music in this genre, I feel very aware that its playing. Ambient in parts, but still very catchy. Subtle at moments, but interesting enough to hold your interest the whole way though. It's an extremely well crafted collection of songs, almost all of which are very good in their own right, but really come together when listened to as a whole.

While the beeps and clicks and looping melodies are nothing radical or new, it just feels different to every other electronica/dance album out there, in a very good way. Softer and more mellow than some of Aphex Twin's more famous work (like 'Come to Daddy' or 'Rubber Johnny'), it still has the same energy as that more popular work. This is probably my favourite Aphex Twin album, and I highly recommended for anyone who wants some interesting and memorable ambient electronica, with plenty of atmosphere.
