This is amongst my very favourite records of all time. Was given as a gift, I didn't really listen to it at first, but it's one that grows & grows with each listen. Pricetag is stupidly low just now as well. Buy it & cherish it, absolutely beautiful from start to finish.

A couple of nice tunes in the shape of River Man and The Cello Song.

     A truly amazing album!

I had heard Nick Drakes name mentioned several times in music press interviews by people as varied as Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher to Slash. So I went out and bought this album, and let me tell you, was far from disappointed. From the opening strains of Time has told me to the very last notes of Saturday sun, I was mesmerised. The orchestration is second to none, absolutely spellbinding. I have since bought other Nick Drake albums, but I think this is by far the best. The woeful folky blues of Day is done is the stand out track on an album full of intricate beauty. Magnificent!

a genuine classic..if you like The Young Republic or B+S

as i said if you like The young republic or belle and sebastian and havent heard this record you will be in love by the second note!

One of the all time great records drakes fragile voice acompanied by some wonderful guitar and upright bass make for one of the most beautiful folk records of the early 70s

Man in a shed and Saturday Son are so ingrained in my psyche that id like one played at my wedding and one at my funeral....beautiful.

a blend of melody and lyrical beauty!

nick drake was a surprising find. Being a fan of joni mitchell and a soft spot for folk and sombre music, a review of "five leaves left" convinced me to buy it. Lyrically, this album equals that of mithcell's "blue" and yet incorporates john martyn-esque vocals, raspy and low. if you are a fan of scott matthews and enjoy the blend of folk and mild blues, you will enjoy this. "Fruit tree" and "saturday sun" are perfect finales to entice to to search for another of nick drake's efforts.
