5 The Fall - Grotesque : After The Grammedriggery | 01/05/2009 | See all driggery's reviews (1)I was lucky enough to see the Fall in their early days in Manchester(at the Electric Circus, Rafters, etc) and have stuck with them ever since, having bought just about everything which bears their name and seen them countless times. . For me, this is the album that I want every 'next Fall album' to be better than, but secretly I know they will never surpass. The music is insistant and the lyrics and singing, cutting and darkly poetic and deep rooted in the culture of Working Class Northern England. Coupled with these bonus 'single' tracks - if it were three times the price it would still be cheap and money well spent. I have this album twice on vinyl, and twice on CD - just in case one should wear out. !! The greatest Fall Album - Pure Class!!!!Driggery - Leicester.
