This album is superb. I thought i was a Marillion fan, but only with Fish. Don't make the same mistake - Steve Hogarth is fantastic and there are some superb post Fish songs in here.

The best songs on the album are Script for a Jesters Tear, Hotel Hobbies & Sugar Mice - on account of the sheer beauty, intensity, menace, anguish and personal sentiment that Fish can put into his songs. Indeed the best disc is the first one with Fish, but the second disc is a slow burning belter of a disc - i listened to it, decided it was not my thing and basically discarded it. It was months later before i stuck it on again and had it playing in the background. Doing that, certain songs came to the fore in the same way as you would pick up on some songs playing on the radio. Now i find i am playing it continuously, learning lyrics, scouring the Marillion website and keeping an eye out for them touring. Hopefully i'll get some time off in December and see them playing The Ferry in Glasgow.

This amazing Marillion album has many of their singles and is a great way to get into the group. Disc 1 features the orignal Marillion with Scottish lead singer FISH and disc 2 has the newer Marillion tracks with Steve Hogarth as the singer. I personally prefer Fish with his brilliant if not unusual lyrics but also like the more commercial tracks of disc 2. Marillion are a very underated band and deserve much, much more!

At the price the album sells for is a bargain for sure as I would pay that for each disc alone.
