on reading the previous reviews i'm glad to see i'm not the only one who listened to it daily when it came out - it went on for at least a year! i rediscovered it a few months ago, prior to peter steele's sad death. i'm buying it now for my little sis - she put black no.1 on her facebook with a comment about having a goth for an older sis. glad to be carrying it on to the next generation - 10 years between us!

anyhoo, october rust is an album that makes me both happy and sad, warm and cold. emotional with out being sentimental, and i love it. RIP peter steele, you will indeed be missed. x

October Rust - Type O Negative - Well worth buying

When I first got this CD I listened to it at least once a day for a whole year.... to this day I've never done that with another CD. There is a good mixture of tracks, from haunting gothic type melodies, and more up-beat tunes like Girlfriends girlfriend. with P.Steeles wonderful voice backed by the bands own unique sound. Nothing quite like it!

 Masterpiece

This is my favorite ToN album. All songs are masterpieces and they blend in perfectly. I guess it's best described as melancholic goth rock, but there's really nothing else like it.

I've had this album for around ten years now and i still listen to it more than any other album. From start to finish it's classic type o album.
