I am a big take that & gary barlow fan, So why does robbie williams take the lead on 7 out of 10 songs , best song on the album is eight letters which gary sings, This album could easy be robbie williams solo album.They are better off being a 4 piece band.

Bought this for my wife, she loves Take That. I have bought her all of their albums but this one is the biggest disappointment. Robbie Williams has had a huge influence on this CD. Firstly let me state that my wife likes Robbie too and has all his CD's. However, this CD sounds more like a Robbie Williams album with Take That as his backing band. Robbie has the lead vocal on 7 of the 10 (and 1 hidden) tracks. Gary Barlow gets one and Mark Owen two. I can't help thinking this is intentional and is mainly for the forthcoming tour. As Robbie has been missing for some time and now he wil have more to do. A very brave risk and IMHO a mistake. Overall the CD is very different and has some merit but for my wife, a poor relation to The Circus and Beautiful World.

After egally awaiting the Take That album with the addition of Robbie Williams my first initial play I was left dumbstruck - What is this pile of ****. The Flood 5 star Take That gold followed by what can only be described as Rudebox (the Take That version). Not wanting to give up on it I persavered and I must say that I now cannot stop listening to it. You need to forget Take That Circus style or Take That of the old 90's and look at it with an open mind. The album is relevent to the current era of music and bring Take That to a new dimension. Majority of the vocals are supplied from Robbie & Mark with Gary delivering the 2nd best song (to The Flood) on the album 'Eight Letters'. Other great songs and future hits include, 'What do you want from me', 'Kidz' and 'Underground Machine' not forgetting 'Happy Now' and 'Pretty Things'.
My honest opinion of Progress is give it time and perservere and you will like if not love the new Take That.

As one of the lucky one's that has heard the album I can say that it will, no doubt, go straight to the number one spot BUT......if this almagamation of the four members and the reintroduction of Robbie Williams to the fray is anything to go by, this album can only be classed as total rubbish (with the exception of the song The Flood). Everything else comes across as a quick, let's chuck as much rubbish in as we can to make money fast and then we can sit back and laugh at the gullible public whilst preparing for our upcoming tour next year where we will make even more money from it. This album lurches from one boring song to the next and with no respect at all to the band members, if this is the best they could come up with, then it is a very sad period in time indeed. This album should not have been called Progress, it should have been called 'A backward step or twenty'. Aside from the The flood, none of the other songs have any redeeming qualities and are instantly forgetable and in many cases regretable, both to the band and the public. They have done themselves no favours at all with the release of this monotonous drivel. It is not a patch to their previous albums and if the introduction of Robbie back into the fold causes them to release an album of this poor quality, then they should simply get rid of him as his influence, apparently, has led them down a dark path. Definitely not up to standard.

I'm an avid Take that fan, but wish they hadnt re-united with Robbie.. He sings at least 7 of the songs on this album and it should therefore be called the Robbie williams solo album.. Only a couple of songs on it i can say I really liked ... Shame i was so looking forward to this new albumm On a high note I am going to wembley in July 2011.. Hooray..
