 More To Say

It's great to see Steve Hewitt having his say musically.
This is a really good, solid, interesting, rock album.
But it's more than that, it has its quirky moments, and there are bits where you can see the influence of the big P on his writing style, but it never overwhelms.
I really like this album for its diversity and its maturity, there is a lot of space here.
It'd be hard to tag this as just a 'rock' album, but it does lean that way. In a kind of 'Manics' 'Terrorvision' and 'Placebo' kind of way, rather than a 'Rawk!' way...
Hugely, pleasantly surprised by it. One of those 'rarely out of the car' albums.
Can't wait to catch them live and get the next album!

Buy this - and play it loud!

When I heard that Steve Hewitt (ex-Placebo) was fronting a new band, I was really curious. Having bought the album and also seen them live a few times, I have to say I'm really impressed. This album rocks - and they are even better live - so much energy and passion - and the band really works well together on stage. My favourites are So Sad, Heaven & Hell, Blood & Earth and the *brilliant* Home. I love to play this album driving: I turn it up loud and sing and headbang my way from A to B. This band isn't Placebo: this band is pure rock.

After being a Placebo fan for over 10 years, I had to admit I approached Love Amongst Ruin with some trepidation. Any doubts I had were wrong. I love this album! A great sound from a great new band. So good I actually struggle to put it into words!

 Rocking!

I bought this album as a Placebo fan and, I have to confess, with some apprehension about Steve Hewitt's vocal abilities. I'm happy to say he proved my doubts well and truly wrong! The album is rocking and has barely been out of my cd player since I bought it. It's reminiscent of Placebo's faster tracks in places but there is plenty of original sound there too, along with riffs that mark this out as a pure rock album. I love it!
