Sirenia continues much in the same vein as with At Sixes And Sevens.
Once again Sirenia is creating a great gothic atmosphere by using both clean and growling male vocals and female vocals. Although the clean male vocals are less frequent on this album it is still used once in a while. Also, violin is used to help set the right mood. Once again, Sirenia is using a "midi machine" (synthesizer) a lot on this album. The synths are used only to create orchestral instruments the band didn't have access to and not the synth noices that were popular in the 80's (think 80's hair metal or Axel F type of electronic music).
I personally think the album is just as good as the debut, so fans of that album + fans of Tristania shouldn't hesitate to buy Elixir for Existence.
