7th Symphony (CD & DVD Deluxe Edition)

Apocalyptica have produced a totally unique sound over the years and this album is a really interesting combination of musical styles. The music itself is haunting and very atmospheric - could easily appear on the soundtrack of any film.

Highlights of the album are songs like On the Rooftop with Quasimodo on one hand, because they show how dark and heavy classical music can sound. But also, the collaberations add a more listenable side to the album, like Not Strong Enough with the singer from Shinedown.

If you tell people that heavy metal can mix beautifully with classical music, most people will think you are just trying to sound weird and 'alternative'. This album is definitely worth checking out. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but great music rarely is.
