 GNR

This is a great cd for anyone who is new to gn'r but being a fan of gn'r it was a let down, it does have some of thier best song's sweet child o' mine, paradise city, patience, november rain, civil war, you could be mine etc, but it doesn't have egtranged on it which wound me up because live and let die, ain't it fun, since i don't have you, sympathy for the devil were on it (even though they are good song's they don't belong on this album). I bought this album to add to my gn'r collection but my advice to anyone new to gn'r would be go and buy appetite for destruction and really find out what gn'r sound like. Don't get me wrong this album is fantastic but it could of been a hell of alot better.

 The Best From The Best

I will keep this short and sweet - this is quite simply a colection of the best songs from the greatest rock band in the history of music. An essential for anyone who considers themselves to be a rock fan. This album shows the change in Guns sound from the early anger of Appetite for Destruction to the more thoughtful (but still awesome) tracks on the use you illusion double album. It is also the only (to my knowledge) cd which features the track to the film 'Interview with the Vampire'. This album shows the best of Axl's singing and the sheer talent of Slash on lead guitar, not to mention the quality from the other band members. Summary? - A nice balance of songs reflecting on the all too short and self destructive career of rocks greatest ever band. Ok, maybe it wasnt so short......

An Atrocity of a "Greatest Hits" Attempt

For those of us fortunate (and rare) enough to call ourselves real Guns fans, this album stands supreme as one of the greatest insults available on the shop shelves. What you are buying is a commercial hits package; which is fine if you're buying Abba albums. But the songs and music that made Guns N' Roses one of the most influential bands in rock history is NOT on this album. What you are given here is a platter of lukewarm mediocrity. Where is the spine tingling brilliance of 'Coma'? And the eerie melody of 'Estranged'? Where is the in-your-face badness of 'Rocket Queen'?! Please. For the sake of your musical integrity. Go out and buy their albums individually, and close the window on this travesty of a money-making cash cow. You will find no brilliance here, except perhaps something to give to a 12 year old nu-metal nerd. Don't buy this. Please. I'm begging you. It's an insult to the human ear.

 Selection of the best

This is more a selection of Guns 'n' Roses' best more then the best.
Don't get me wrong there are some great songs. For it to be the "Best of" in the true sense of the word you would really need two CDs.
If you want the true best of guns n roses buy appetite for destruction and download the best tracks from UYI1&2.
Great for people who like guns n roses a little, but a fan deserves more.

Not a huge fan of the band, but like a handful of their more popular and commercial songs.
And in that aspect this collection of songs is ideal
