this album is really good, some of the mixes are really well done such as the transition between (the end) and get back. the acoustic version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps is simply beautiful. And the version of Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite!/I Want You (She's So Heavy)/Helter Skelter really adds to the song. This is an album for all true Beatle fans. I would recommend buying this album locking your self away for a couple of hours listen to the CD through a set of headphones and youll hear something new every time you listen.
As a fan I have to say it was great to hear this CD. I am sure there are many fans that will hate this the ones that like to hear the beatles in Mono only would probabley burn the producers at the stake. However listen to this as a different look at the song, Drive my car mixes in the vocal to the word and girl what your doing, it sounds like a new song. They use the demo version of while my guitar gently wheeps and its like a complete different version and it is beutiful. The strangest thing Octopus's garden is well with an Orcestra and wow great. if you are a fan do buy this, but I would say that if you have never been into the Beatles or have no albums buy No 1's instead, All i can say is I can't wait for EMI to realise the new remastered versions of the Beatles albums then they can all sound as clear as this great album
I borowed this CD from a friend, and put it on. and you wouldnt believe how astounded i was! this CD is simply incredible! it's my favourite album by the beatles (if you consider it one). it is a must have! everyone should have it: it shows just how diverse and experimentative the beatles are! and at a fantastic price too
Simply fantastic.. I have always loved The Beatles, and "LOVE", has an awesome collection of cuts, terrifically blended together! This is a CD that should be in every music lovers collection!
Having been played Beatles all my life (my parents were big fans) I pretty knew what to expect when I herd this - how wrong I was. Put simply, this album is Amazing! Never before has anyone heard the Beatles like this (unless you were lucky enough to see them play live - I missed that era). What George and Giles Martin have done here is truly staggering, the sound quality and remixes simply add another dimension to what already was some of the greatest songs ever written. I can only recommend that you buy the album and listen for yourself - you wont be disappointed.
Why on earth would you want to do a pick and mix of Beatles on a cd? This is maybe a desperate attempt at the former Beatles making some extra money.
The music they mix up is really done in bad taste, it felt more like jive bunny than the Beatles.
Get the originals honestly this cd does them no credit
I bought this CD to get in to the Beatles since they are a bit before my time. This CD has been digitally remastered to sound like it was recorded recently; and it sounds great. Good collection of tracks with many tracks that were really popular. Wouldn't reccommend for a long-time fan of the Beatles though since this is deffinately a 'starter' album, but if you don't own a Beatles album you should deffinately give this one a go to see what they were really about (If you're new to the Beatles you might find it hard to appreciate their music because the recordings sound quite out-dated due to recording technology at the time; not the talent).
I'm a huge Beatles fan and this felt so wrong that i turned it off after 2 tracks :(
Theres so much amazing material they made out there that i'ld advise you to check that out first instead of this unnecessary quick xmas cash in.
Oh tough one, I'd have to say, the best of the Beatles
very good album shows that mono can be converted to stereo if it done properly .Anyone who had heard I wanna hold your hand on past masters vol1 will know what i mean it sounds bad just listen to the 'clapping' way out in the fore ground instead of in the back ground. I wanna hold your hand on the 'love' album shows it can be done pity its not the full version. I have all the beatles records but still found this worth buying and as others have said before many sound even better.
The reason most people want the 'old' stuff in mono is because who ever converts these tracks dont do a good job of it. Great album.
