Thats right, Avril's ex was great inspiration for this album.

It's a great punk rock album, featuring some of the anthems of the 90's.

The best tracks are the ones that deal with bad relationships. "My Happy Ending" and "He Wasn't" being perhaps the best on the album; of course "Slipped Away" is great...it moves me to tears every time!

This is a great album!

For fans of : Sum 41, Good Charlotte, Paramore
Best Track : He Wasn't

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars A good album with well-written songs!

This 2nd Avril Lavigne album is slightly edgier than the 1st, yet is still quite mainstream and poppy. Every song has lyrics that one can easily relate to, and would seem like the sort of words spoken in conversation to a councilor.
Even though each song is easy to listen to, if you keep this album on repeat for a while all the songs begin to sound the same.
Other than that, it's a good pop album that the majority of the female teenage audience could relate to.

This is a great album through and through I can't honestly say theres a bad track on here! Avril's lyrics have a more grown up sound and this adds to the feel of a more professional album.

Probably the best out of Avril's three albums - although her song-writing skills are better than her voice, Avril still manages to pull off a decent album. Easy listening is the best way to describe most of the songs on here, unlike the highly-irritating 'Girlfriend' from her latest album!

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Another amazing album

This is Avril Lavigne's best album so far. Her 1st album, Let Go, was ok but i don't think it was as good as this one is. Her new album, The Best Damn Thing, is quite good but i only like a couple of songs. On this album i love every song. She is an excellent singer. This is the only album i bought of hers and I'm glad i did cuz it's FANTASTIC!!! Keep it up Avril Lavigne, 'Don't Tell Me' not to buy your albums, but i can't help myself. You're a brilliant singer!!!

Most people seem to either prefer her first or her third album I personally prefer this one. This album is fantastic and if you give the songs a chance I'm sure people will agree. I feel its the most in depth and serious album she has done. Particular songs that stand out are my happy ending, nobody's home, freak out, together and the emotional slipped away! Definitely a must have for any CD collection.

Customer rating: 4 out of 5 stars Excellent second album

While Avril's first album had a few good moments (namely "I'm With You", "Tomorrow" and "Unwanted"), I found it didn't hold up to repeat listens. This second album, "Under My Skin" shows a progression in the music style while not alienating her starting fan base.

The album contains numerous gems such as "Nobody's Home", "My Happy Ending" and "Fall To Pieces" and overall the songs hold up well. The lead single "Don't Tell Me" is one of my least favourites along with "He Wasn't", which unfortunately reminds me too much of the woeful "Sk8er Boi".

I would definitely recommend this album, more so than her other two. While it initially seemed that Avril was a calculated record company artist, this CD definitely shows that, with the right collaborators and guidance, she could become an artist of note.
