I was already a fan of Jean-Michel Jarre before I bought this album. I already had ''Oxygene'', ''Equinoxe'' and ''Magnetic Fields'', so I thought I knew what to expect. ''Zoolook'' was way beyond my expectations.

A far punchier feel, using experimental samples (which was new then) of real instruments such as drums and bass guitars. What makes it really stand out is how he recorded it. He sampled human voices, various phrases from all over world, and edited them in the keyboards to create captivating sonic textures and rythmic patterns.

Some tracks are wonderfully atmospheric, whilst others bounce along and lift you up. This is still my favourite Jarre album by far.
