I bought this album for one reason. Devin Townsend.

As a huge fan of him, of course really enjoy the vocals on this album, but I was sceptical of the overall feel of it.

The introsong is good, and the first real track "Here and Now" is somewhat fast with a okay energy. But what really suprised me was the exstreme talent that Steve Vai posseses. The guitar solo's are fast, heavy, exstreme at times, and gracefully such as in the track "Touching Tongues" which is very relaxing.

Hell, there are even a 70's porn movie like "wacka wacka" sounding guitar solo in the track "Survive".

The lyrics are often about sex & religion (funny huh?), and I find them rather good, especially the track "In my dreams with you" have a kinky yet sexy lyric.

The down point is... That many of the songs sound a little too much of Glam rock/80 Metal, which I find silly and not exiting enough. But still, if you like some good vocals (might be a little annoying at times), and really… more »
