I was really disappointed with this album, as "Songs about Jane" was so much better.. It's a shame really. It was a waste in my opinion
Lyrics makes this album great

It's all in the lyrics, they are catchy, smart and heartfelt. Buy it if you loved their first album, obviously its not like songs about jane, but it is pretty good otherwise, you can tell it's typical Maroon 5 style!
this isn't songs about jane .... but ......

firstly it seems all the negative reviewes were way too quick to compare this album to the excellent songs about jane .... most artists/bands will change direction slightly between albums and who really wants a band to show no development.
this is a good pop/rock album with some excellent melodies & songwriting, there are 1 or 2 filler tracks but on the whole, i enjoyed the album .... can't wait for the 3rd!!!!!
good but....

Well it was good.
but songs about jane was brilliant.
it was the kind of album you didnt ever take out of the CD player.
this didnt live up to that.
so if you dont have the first album buy that.
But i still think this is worth a listen...catchy and lyrically good.

Songs about Jane was a fantastic CD. This is just as good, and the more you listen the more the songs grow on you.
Expected great - did not get it

Disappointed, could not wait to get this one, expected new, fresh and great tracks like those on Songs About Jane - like a lot of artists they could not top a great 1st album. Buy 'songs about Jane' the first album, forget this one. This one sounds like they have found a 'selling' niche and are sticking to it without experimentation or individuality - what a shame.
BIG BIG DISAPPOINTMENT

After 'Songs About Jane' i was really excited when 'Makes Me Wonder' was released as couldn't wait for their new album but it was diasppointingly dull. They have lost their unique, distincive style and seem too pop now, their lyrics are a bit unoriginal/sameish too.
My advice? Buy their first album if you haven't got it but don't bother with this...
Brilliant

Songs About Jane was a personal favourite, and with them having lived off the back of that album for so long i wasnt sure if i'd like their new direction . . . but in fact this album has just continued their great work. Some really great songs that scream summer!! Definitely part of my soundtrack to the summer . . .
Maroon 5 Superb

Well after a great 1st Songs About Jane, comes the 2nd It Won't Be Soon Before Long. After the success first album i thought it would be hard to beat but the Lad's have done it with a selection of songs to suit everyones taste from upbeat fast pace to slow and low. This is truely a good album and i think may edge over thier first. If its the case that Maroon 5's music gets better as time goes by i can't wait for number 3 (being presumptous)

Its a brilliant second album for Maroon 5, after Songs about Jane....this new album is just showing how good Maroon 5 is at making songs. Its a good follow up album. Keep up the good work lads.
