- Real Girl is a collection of songs that unveil the R&B heart that always lay beneath Ms. Buena's Sugababes contributions, but never abandons the joy of pure pop. Its supporting cast of composers, producers and artists - including Amy Winehouse, Groove Armada and George Michael - all keep the quality effortlessly high without distracting from the strength of Mutya's voice and personality. There is a certain rawness--an edge, present throughout the recording and it was Mutya's idea to keep the sound flawed and spontaneous, to show off the humanity, as well as the technique, of her vocals.
- "Everyone"s favourite Sugababe Mutya Buena is back and about to make music interesting again"welcome back beautiful, we"ve missed ya" (i-D Magazine)
- "A future classic" (NME)
- "Poppy and soulful, "Real Girl lets Buena"s awesome lungs soar" (The Observer)
- "Buena convincingly recreates the essence of Mary J Blige" (Q Magazine)
- "Real Girl is brilliant: smart, funny, fresh, deep, brimful of cheek, heart full of soul and as sharp as a pin in a tongue stud" (Guardian Guide)
- "the brilliant Song 4 Mutya is the best thing committed to wax by any current or former Sugababe since Overload". (NME)
- "Real Girl heralds the arrival of a major talent" (Daily Mail)

I admit i didn't buy this album from Play.com, but i just had to buy it from wherever i bought it from.(I can't remember.)
I always liked the Sugababes, and admitedly fancied the pants off of Mutya, and thought she had a very distinctive voice, so when i heard she was releasing a solo album i must admit i had my doubts!!!
But after seeing video's for Real Girl and Song 4 Mutya and reading a few reviews, i just had to buy it!!!!
I listened to it later that day, and i was not dissapointed, i am so happy i bought this album when i did. a musical experience that is more than pleasing to the ears.
If your a fan, buy it, you'll love it!!!!
If your not a fan, give it a listen anyway, you won't be sorry!!!
the sound of the summer!

i was so surprised with this album, a real mix of different tempos which i loved, there are collaberations with george micheal and amy whinehouse and its a reasonably long player too! usualy there are only a handful of good tracks or possible singles, i loved every track and othere than the obvious single releases my favourite stand out tracks would have to be its not easy and the beautiful paper bag. mutya was obviously the strongest vocalist in the sagababes and i bet they kicked themselves when they heard this, i take my hat off to you mutya, im looking forward to your second album if its going to be anything like this one, fantastic!!!!
pleasantly surprised!

i have to admit i only bought this album because it was on a 2 for £10 offer (sorry play, for once i didn`t buy from you!) and i had most of the other albums but i am so glad i did! What an album!
It really does have a good assortment of songs from slow ballad style, which show off her vocal range,to up-beat songs like "song for mutya".She has a fantastic voice and i think the sugababes have lost the person who really made them what they are.Listening to this you realise just how much she gave the band vocally. If you like good music make sure you buy this asap.
