This album, if the Music Press is to be believed, is Brian Wilson's magnum opus. Sorry chaps, it just ain't that good. There are outstanding tracks, 'Sloop John B', 'Wouldn't it be Nice' and 'God Only Knows' which are frankly beautiful and the rest is pretty ordinary fare. You do get all the tracks twice, once in mono and then again in stereo which is a nice surprise but apart from that this is a well put together but hardly stunning offering. Not in the same class as 'SMILE', 'So Tough' or 'M I U' and 'LA', worth having but could do better.
