     Brilliant Debut

Really really good Debut record from the Boys from Leicester. Not considered completely original however they really do try to differ from most modern indie/rock bands. My Stand out tracks here would be Club Foot, Reason is Treason, LSF and Cutt Off. Club foot has one of the best basslines i have ever heard and LSF has a chorus that you can keep on singing to. Seen these guys twice now and it's nice to see their first album singles have not been forgotten. They've gone on to become the best band in the world today. Good Stuff

     great album, bad virus

Brilliant album but bewarned, if playing on a PC the stupid inbuilt player contains a Trojan virus called SH3ur2.ALSC
why albums need these built in players i don't know, not one of them i've ever used has made my experience better, just worse.

if just listening to on a CD player it's ace.
pc, fastforwards to 7:07 on the last track and you'll have a much better version of Treason

     Kasabian-Kasabian

The debut album of Kasabian is an outstanding achievement mixing an electronic vibe with Tom's brit snarl combines to make a rather unique sounding album. Kasabian's brilliant opener Club Foot hits you with an in your face riff and hard-hitting vocals. Afterwards the pace slackens slightly with a rather melodic, calm few minutes in Processed Beats. Before an, adrenalin packed Reason is Treason trashes the rave-esque feel and takes you on a four minute roller coaster ride. Before sending you in to the technological world of I.D., a tight opening section leads to an electronic period where tom's voice drifts in and out between the guitars and drums of the rest of the band before breaking down and finishing with a commanding drum beat whilst downbeat guitars and ghostlike vocals hum along in the background. This then leads into the military-esque feel of L.S.F. with a driving guitar and an epic ending that has been the highlight of many festivals. The pace then relaxes in running battle and test transmission before ascending into a rather creepy Cutt Off vocal harmonies are laden amongst the chorus whilst a pounding drum beat plays in the background the distorted guitar in this really adds to the feel and mood. Then after this catchy song we head into Kasabian's downtown moody blues section in Butcher Blues, with a predominate bass underlying the whole piece. Then Ovary Stripe a tightly scripted piece with no vocals changes the feel completely before U Boat rounds off Kasabian's album giving you time to contemplate, its melodic and probably the most relaxing song on the album. But wait. Just when you think its over a more synthesized version of Reason is Treason hits you and drags you through another roller coaster ride.
Overall this is one of my favourite albums of all time. I burnt the cd I played it so much. Hopefully you'll agree

     Oh My God

There are some amazing songs on this album like Club Foot and Cutt Off. A bit of an 'aggresive' sound which works really well and they got a real fan base beacause of it.

Probably the best British debut album for some time when it was released.

     sick album

Possibly one of the best albums I have ever listened to start to finish, doesnt get boring, is always suiable wateva mood i'm in, and has some classic songs, runing battle, reason is treason and the epic club foot are amongst my faves. shame they lost their way a bit with the 2nd album, hopefully their next album will be as good as this one!!

this is definatly one of my faves though! a Must Buy for absolutly anybody!

The first song I heard by kasabian, Along with the majority of people, was the awesome "club foot" (which these days you cannot get away from used on everything from video games to adverts) and on the strength of that song I purchased the album. I wasn't disapointed.

At a time when the charts are full of newly discovered bands playing the same "indie with an accent", this album was a breath of fresh air. A very different style of indie rock with haunting vocals singing well written lyrics backed by some awesome musical talent.

This album must be bought, and is a hell of a lot better than there 2nd album.

     what an amazing discovery
