Such a great album, one of the few I can actually listen to all the way through. Green Day are an awesome band and this is the best of a very good list of albums from them.

This is what every band should sound like. This is too good for words. Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre' Cool make the best band in the universe, Green Day.

It really saddens me to hear some music reviews these days, especially ones relating to rock (and all it's sub categories) albums. The message totally seems to have been lost on what rock, or rock and roll truly is. It's about expressing something, tellinga story through your jacked-up instruments, and having people hanging on your every lyric.

Therefore the word 'pretentious' does not have any place in rock music. Many people have described Green Day's latest offering as just that, and it really wracks me off.

The 2 'rock opera' tunes on this album are new, fresh and brilliant sounding. They take you ona journey and by the end of the song you can't believe that you've arrived there, considering how the track started out. It's truly emotional, and that's what I want from my rock bands.

This album tells an unbelievable story of a man who has lost himself and become so self aware, that he has split into two personalities. It's never been done as far as I'm aware, and these boys deserve some credit for it. Green Day were on the way out BIG TIME until they made this album, but now I believe they are like no other Green Day before. Even the heights (and far too well documented) of Dookie is poles apart from this kind of vibe.

DON'T BE AFRAID OF WHAT'S DIFFERENT, IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S PRETENTIOUS!

Top 100 Music Reviewer

Don't get me wrong, i grew up listening to Green day and like alot of their stuff. This album however doesn't quite grab me as much as alot of their others. There isn't anything that i wouldn't prefer hearing on another album and overal it doesn't hit the mark as much as their others. Even so the album is good and its nice to hear them trying a few epics as opposed to the maximum of just 3-4 minute songs.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars BEST BAND EVER.....!!!

There's nothing i don't like about this album. I love every single one of the songs. Having a story to the album in a way allows you to think about the lyrics more and link some of the characters and songs together. It's a shame a few of the songs have been overplayed on music channels & on the radio - still love them to bits though! I really hope their next album is just as good if not better.
