Album of the Year (So Far)

I have enjoyed many of the songs from Noah and the Whale's first two albums but, for me at least, this slightly more upbeat effort is their best yet. It is rare for me to like every song on an album but that is certainly the case here with Life is Life and L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N being particular favourites of mine.

Simply put this is a fantastic album.

 My summer 2011 Summer Album

Rarely does an album make you smile from track one to the end. I Bought this album on my way to work on a beautiful summers morning and the music really lifted my spirits. I'm a fan of Noah, owning both previous albums, and where both are great in their own right I believe it has taken up to this point to deliver a fantastic 3rd album. You get the feeling that the band have finaly found the niche in which they want to settle in. I dont like comparing bands to others as i believe everyone has a unique sound but I cant help hearing 'The Killers' In some songs and I'm even taken back 20 years to the days of 'They might be Giants'. I sit on the fence when it comes to Nu- Folk, it either works brilliantly (in this case) or sounds a bit 'Beardy'. This album however delivers on every count, and I dare anyone to put this on and not feel happy. Plus the songs seem to have very 'positive' lyrics, just what the world needs at this moment.

 Uplifting and brilliant!

This is quite a short album but is packed with quality.
I have never heard any of Noah & The Whale's previous albums ( although I had heard the 5 years time single). And I decided to investigate it after Q gave it a good review. I listened to the first single which is truly brilliant! And decided to buy it without any more research.
I was slightly worried about this as I am mainly into rock and this was labeled as nu-folk which I have never tried before. But it it blew me away instantly.
Even if folk is not your thing give it a try and listen to....

L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.
Wild Thing
Give it All Back
Just Me Before We Met
Waiting For a Chance to Come.

If you like any one of these you are bound to like the whole album!
Take a gamble and try it!

I have the previous two albums from this band and both are decent. However in my opinion this is by far their best album to date. Great songs from start to finish and the first three tracks are brilliant. Hard to select a favourite to be honest!! Playing this constantly at the moment. The best album I have bought lately for sure!!
