I really enjoyed Greens first album and this one is even stronger. Highlights for me are At Your Inconvenience, Read All About It, Spinning Out, Remedy, Avalon and Forever Falling, but to be honest there isn't really a weak track on there. Spinning Out is an amazing cover of the Pixies track Where Is My Mind. As a fan of the Pixies I wouldn't have believed that it could be covered that well by a rap artist before I heard it. He also uses loads of orchestral sounds and piano backing which work great with the beats and rapping. Top class.
Being a massive Eminem fan, I thought I would give this album a go after hearing Read All About It on the radio which is a great song. It is quite good and has some great songs like At Your Inconvenience, Today I Cried and Forever Falling. Although I have the feeling he is trying to be a exact british version of eminem with the celeb mocks and silly words. He is trying to be too similar to him because of his success. I have the feeling this album is trying to be similar to the Marshall Mathers LP, which is a fantastic album and one of the best ever, but this album isn't as good. I don't think the album is consistent enough which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. There are some pretty poor songs like D.P.M.O and Trouble. But to be fair it is pretty good. The collaboration with Royce da 5'9', (Eminem's Bad Meets Evil partner) is good to have and could get him a song with Eminem which I think would be good to hear. If you like eminem, I would say give this a go but I hope his next album is more consistent.
The only song I liked of Professor Green's was 'Be Good To Green' featuring Lily Allen before I heard 'Read All About It', as for the rest, they were not to my liking. When I heard 'Read All About It' I thought what a great track. I can tell Eminem was his inspiration on coming up with that song , it reminds me of 'Love The Way You Lie". And there is nothing wrong with that - You cant pick a better rapper than Em for inspiration. 'Read It All About It' is a great song and I thought I will listen to the rest of his songs on his album. To my surprise most of them are pretty damn good.
The song 'Doll' is another example of Professor Green inspired by Eminem. That song is quite similar to 'Marshal Mathers'. Again, another great song. To have Royce Da 5'9 featuring in one of his songs must be a great priviledge. Cos his one of the best rappers out there and that says it all about Professor Green's talent and best of all his British.
