Torches

Heard a mix of Pumped Up Kicks when I was in the US at the start of the year and it sat in the back of my mind until it started getting airplay here in the UK and peaked my interest again in them so I took the punt to get the album without having heard any of the other tracks. Glad I did, it's a breath of fresh air from start to finish, most of the tracks are chilled out and relaxing. In reply to the comment below about Friendly Fires, it's a similar style to that but much more chilled out and the more I listen to it, the more I prefer Torches to Pala.

Pumped Up Kicks isn't even the best track on the album in my opinion, far from it, it's quite middling compared to most of the album. Highlights are Helena Beats, Call It What You Want, Houdini, Life On The Nickel and Miss You.

I am absolutely in love with this album and this band!!!! They are from LA but have a british indie sound which is tastefully portrayed throughout their sound. Discovered Pumped Up Kicks and fell in love with it, but then came across their album Torches and tracks like, Houdini, I'd Do Anything For You, Warrant, Call It What You Want- basically the whole album rocks! They are my new favourite band and new obsession.

My kind of chill out album and pretty certain this will be my album of the year, unless Friendly fires new album can beat it (bit behind with that). Each song is well written with catchy beats.

Saw these guys at Glastonbury yesterday were absolutely amazing, would definitely recommend further listening to these guys!
