Still remember the day in 1981 that I first heard Bruce, I was living in LA, and have been hooked ever since. Not impressed with the period without the East Street Band. WOW does this album make up for that period or what?
It is not that often that you buy a record and every track is brilliant from rocking 'Mary's place' to lump in the throat 'You're missing'. Magnificent.

For those that don't know, this album was not going to be called the rising, or have any of the finished content on it.. but events of September 11th changed that.
Bruce was astounded to discover most NY fire fighters had Born to Run or Born in the USA in their lockers once their lockers were emptied after they never returned from the towers & after so many lost their lives...
so as a tribute this album was written from the soul, and you can feel it, the E Street Band return to do their very best since Born to Run, and the entire album is a weighty tribute to the NY fire service and the day that changed the world. truly awesome, the best since BTR, and the 75-85 live albums. my favourite.. The rising itself, and My city in Ruins. Buy, weep & enjoy..

By the way It is NOT a depressing album, just fantastically written!
