The Strawbs were going through a bad patch,Sandy Denny had left to join the Fairports, and Rick Wakeman had gone to join Yes and,Hudson Ford were on their way to having hits of their own.
Blue weaver was bought in from the recently disbanded Amen Corner and filled Wakemans shoes admirably things were back on the up,Noel edmonds even had "Benedictus" as the single of the week.I remember it well ,as a friend had the album, and i,the single..
Listening to the album all these years later,it still sounds good, better even with remastering bringing out the clarity of the sound. This could be a Folk/Prog rock classic..
David Cousins' voice can be a little nasal but that seems to enhance the sound ,and at 41 minutes long you can easily listen to this without it becoming repetative.
Particular favourites are"Benedictus""New world"and "Tomorrow"
