What I think of it is Kate Bush has become melancholy, her lyrical content is weak and unimaginative. Based on what are her defining benchmarks in British Arty Pop I ask where has that brilliant creative song writing mind gone to? Nothing is challenging here, in fact it is an album of what I would call B Sides. I do believe that any album track with a strong imaginative and evocative content that has a pleasing structured rhythm is worthy of a single release; but with this album I struggle. The tone and beautiful singing voice of Kate Bush is still there I can here it, I just wish the vehicle that brought it to my ears was as worthy as the high standard of work she has produced in the past. Perhaps the release of Aerial was the sign post Kate followed when putting 50 Words For Snow together. I will not stop listening to this new album, as perhaps it is me missing something in each of the tracks as I really want to like this as much as other Kate Bush albums.
