i love these compilations, they put together so many 'singer's' and 'song's' many of us remember so well from yesteryear.
the first 'CD' gives us songs from artists such as 'the ronettes' 'diana ross and the supremes' and the great song writer 'carol king' along with screen and song legend 'doris day'
the second gives us 'dusty springfield' 'petula clarke' 'sandie shaw' along with 'TV' show hostess and early 60's hit machine 'cilla black'
just a few of the great names to enjoy.
i felt the third 'CD' ran out of steam a little however, yes there are some great names there, but...there are also names i don't recall as having 'UK' hits................on many of these compilations the song 'remember ( walkin' in the sand ) by the 'shangri-las' is included, however, from memory the number was the 'b-side' to their ''smash-hit' ''leader of the pack''
also, i notice 'cher's' song 'sunny' on board ( love her material down the years, one of the 'great' female artist's ) from memory the song was more successful on the continent than in the u.k............just wish a different track had been included.
overall, nit-picking aside, there are many great sounds to enjoy on the compilation.....worth listenning too ............enjoy.
