 Great at what they do

There is no doubt that the Civil Wars are great musicians, they are just a little bit too 'samey' for me. I found myself fast forwarding through the CD on the first listen to see if there was anything a little bit more up-tempo. Apart from the sublime 'Barton Hollow' it seemed to me that the album lacked a little energy and bite. Obviously, their genre is laid-back, but their songs appear to have little deviation in tempo. It appeared that they had found a formula and stuck with it. This album is great to listen to when relaxing, but it did not grip me. It would not stop me buying more of their material, but I would need to have a few 'foot-tapping' tunes in there to do so!

 The wars are welcome in England.

Best album i have heard for a while, great songs. They work like a dream together, buy it.
