The Gulag Orkestar (2CD)

This CD is amazing. The whole essence and atmosphere of this music is just breathtaking. In my opinion this is one of Beirut's best CD's. My only advice is to buy this and sit back and let your spirit be filled with some of the most fantastic music

Simply beautiful. Music from Vaudevillian eras with mariachi trumpets and shuffling drums, composed into a caramel wonderland of faded sequins and choruses. Moments of Calexico and Rufus Wainwright bring this album into a euphoric ray of Sunday sunshine.
