This is a pretty decent record. If you're reading this you already know all about the world of J.Spaceman so I'll cut to the chase. There's a good mix of styles on display here from the opening 2 raw rockers through a jazz wig-out on 'The Power and The Glory' and some touching balladry with the Spaceman's trademark quiveringly heart-breaking vocals. For me 'Lord, let it rain on me" is the album's emotional centrepiece. If already a fan and you liked 'Ladies and Gentlemen' and 'Let It Come Down you should enjoy this. For a new-starter, I'd recommend you get 'Ladies..' first. A worthy addition to the Spiritualized canon though. Worth your time and money. Can't wait for 'Songs in A & E' now!!
