Batman: The Dark Knight Rises - Original Soundtrack

Only listened to it twice, but along with familiar sections from previous installments, we now have enormous percussive tracks that build and build. 'Gotham's Reckoning' - from the prologue, made the hair on my neck stand up, which happens less and less these days, but damned if it didn't happen again half an hour later during 'Imagine The Fire'. It's no great shame that James Newton Howard sat this one out, as Zimmer seems to have applied himself so well, perhaps creating one of his finest of all time. It's calling for another listen right now, roll on 20th July.

If you thought, like me, that the dark knight score was stunning and improved on batman begins already fabulous score, then you wont be surprised that this takes the best from both and produces the best score I have ever heard! Tracks 1 -9 are beautiful and powerful. Tracks 11 through 14 are a goose bump endusing master class, while track 15 is the pinacle of yet another breathtaking hans zimmer score!
