Now then, Vanessa, what right do you have to produce an album such as this? You're gorgeous, you've appeared in the hugely successful High School Musical and you have a smile and voice that could melt the stoniest of hearts so what right... oh wait... yeah, that about covers it.

I was prepared to be a little bit disappointed in this album but having heard the insanely catchy debut single Come Back To Me, I thought I might as well plump for the album while I'm at it. Luckily it turns out that it wasn't a bad purchase at all.

That's not to say there aren't a couple of problems. Firstly, alhough her voice is warm and solid, it is not spectacular and to be perfectly frank there are plenty of better singers out there. Secondly, a couple of the songs are a bit too placid and safe. Whatever Will Be could easily be more powerful and moving but ends up being a bit wet while Drive doesn't really suit the tone of her voice as well as it should.

However, while some of it too safe, there is a lot of stuff that is, quite honestly, more experimental than I would have expected. Psychic's rumbling bassline and the punchy electro on Lose Your Love works a treat. The rest of the album is chock full of stomping proper pop songs which don't necessarily rely on the vocals to sell themselves. Let's Dance, especially, is a romping pop song and the album's major highlight, and while it may be Vanessa's best vocal, it would be a top class song whoever sang it so kudos to the writers and producers! Say OK is a simple pop song that works on Vanessa's softer tones to create a cracking chorus and a catchy little accompaniesit perfectly. Never Underestimate A Girl is a ballsier affair that splashes around neatly with a squelching bassline and a snappy snare to get your foot tapping.

The rest of the album follows in a similar vein and as a total package, negative points aside, it comes acoss as a complete album and one that packs in a few surprises, Pleasant surprises, of course.

So Vanessa... what right do you... oh wait, I covered that already.

VANESSA HUDGENS shot to fame with her part in High School Musical after minimal parts in several Disney Channel programmes. On observation of HSM you can clearly see miss hudgen's singing ability is outstanding, second to none some may say. Vanessa takes a more mature approach to this album than in HSM with tracks such as Come Back to Me & It's OK being less Pop-esc and more Dance like which is very effective and create great tunes for anyone to listen to.

I believe that Vanessa Hudgens or as she puts it in her song, "Baby V" will become an international singing superstar sometime in the near future and believe that this is only the first step of a very successful career.

I say buy this album as it is well worth it and guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
