 Heard just one song, but..

The record hasn't been released so this is not a full review, but I already heard the single "Killing for love" which is fantastic to listen to and gives me hopes of an even better second album than the first one.
He is a tad more aggressive and song is haunting to listen to, something you want to hear over and over again. If the rest of the record is of the same quality, we should have an classic waiting for us.

A great album with great songs. If you like Nick Drake, Redhouse Painters you should have it.

 Jose Gonzalez does not disappoint

Some may find with artists that when they release another album, it's never as good as their first.

Not so with Gonzalez.

'In Our Nature' still boasts the relaxing yet punchy music of 'Veneer', yet there are songs like Abram that offer something new to the listener.

You can't go wrong with In Our Nature, and you definately will not be disappointed.

This second album utterly concretes Jose Gonzalez's reputation as one of the most talented singer-songwriters of today. His incredible knack for reinterpreting classics is given a nod here with his beautiful take on "Teardrop" but the main focus is on his own song writing abilities. The mixture of haunting guitar work and dark lyrics is mesmerizing. My particular favorite is "The Nest". Who would've thought avian cannibalism could be so romantic? All in all, an absolute gem of an album. I can't wait for the next!

 Absolutely Fantastic

Having only heard one of Jose's songs before. I bought this album on a whim. Having listened to it when it arrived, I was stunned by the quality of his songs. Every buzz of the guitar just adds to the atmostphere the songs create. Yet the also songs have a darker element but can carry emotion well too.

My personal favourites on the album are Fold and Cycling Trivialities.

I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking of purchasing it. It will never leave your cd player!
