OK, so the art of mashing isn't exactly a new phenomenon, but on the basis of this compilation, long may it continue.
I'm usually put off dance compilations by the protracted running time of the repetitive remixes on offer, but the majority of the cuts on this are 'quick and dirty' and following the first listen I was hooked, bowled over by the sheer genius of putting the vocal track to Peggy Lee's Fever to Iggy Pop's The Passenger.
The other standout track for me was the Moloko/Elastica mash, but there's no weak track on the cd. Superb. I can't wait for the follow-up.
