for me,brett anderson is one of the best singers and songwriters to hail from britain and doesn't get the respect he deserves.suede were a fantastic band adding a bit of sleaze and glamour to the charts during the laddish britpop years.their first three album,suede(1993) dogmanstar(1994) and coming up(1996) still sound wonderful today.this is bretts first solo album and its a winnner.first track love is dead is a string laden ballad it sounds like a lost suede classic and could easily fit onto dogmanstar.other highlights are the rocky dust and rain.to the winter,one lazy morning,infinite kiss,song for my father is a tribute to bretts late dad and is beautiful.the only reason im not giving it five stars is because of the god-awful 'the more we own the less we possess.... surely the worst song bretts ever penned.its the only stinker on an otherwise great debut.lets hope he makes another.

This is a "must" for all Suede fans, and Brett fans!! From the first song to the last, its just great.
