Chimiara for me represent both the strengths and weaknesses of Metal. they fall into the sterotypical category of a metal act.
the lyrics are ott and the swearing is supposed to increase the effect the words have on the listener. yet they over blow the effect.
However there is a blatent honesty and purity about Chimaira. they dont mask there music and you get a clear of of the bands persoanlity and soul with every track.
songs such as "no reason to live" and "pleasure in pain" are brutal and unruly and this points to another weakness. the band are simply too one dimensional. they have no alternative or "something different".
generally, if you like metal, this isnt a bad effort but would only really satisfy the concrete fan base and doesnt at all boost chimaira's profile.
Oh yes!

This is the epitome of what the whole music scene should be about. After getting di-illusioned with the support that they were recieving from roadrunner, Chimaira went and signed to Nuclear Blast. And my god didn't they pay them back well?
This is technically, both from a music and lyrics point of view, easily the best Chimaira album yet, and after listening to this type of music for ten years, I have to say this is one of the best albums i have ever heard. Chimaira titled the album accordingly, now everyone else is going to have to up their game considerably in order to keep up. You like heavy music, you NEED this album.
