The version of Cosmia on this EP is among the best things she has done. The music sounds like the moon coming from behind dark clouds. It just goes to show that Ys would have still been brilliant without Van Dyke Parks - although his stange orchestrations are brillinat on Ys. I really like this EP.

1. Colleen; an Irish flavoured ballad about a woman who turns into a whale (or something along those lines) also she makes this awesome yip noise, which just completes the song somehow!

2. Clam Crab Cockle Cowrie; a re-working of a song off Milk Eyed Mender, with really warm vocal harmonies. beautiful

2. Cosmia; a more stripped down "folky" version of the song off "Ys" features banjo and musical saw!

i'm looking forward to the release of Have One On Me later this month, from the songs i've heard off the new album- it's clear that the new songs will follow a similar direction to this EP. this sort of covers the middle ground between Mender & Ys, which is just fine with me! :D
